Day 8 Favourite Male Co-Star: Jack Lemmon, Some Like It Hot (1959)
This was between Tom Ewell, Clark Gable and Dean Martin but I had to go with Jack Lemmon. For me personally, I feel Jack outshines Tony Curtis by miles in the film, although his performance is also wonderful. Marilyn and Jack’s performances just work so well and make the film forever memorable. I think Jack is so good in the film that he (almost!) outshines Marilyn, and that’s saying something! I wish Marilyn and Jack would of had the chance to work together again as I think they would of been wonderful. On working with Marilyn Jack said, “Marilyn had incredible charisma that was so rare, I don’t think I’ve seen anything like it. She had a lot of talent as an actress and she used that talent to the best of her ability as well as her skills as a comedienne, which worked out marvellously for her as with that combined, she created that certain magic on film. I loved working with her and a lot of people say that is clear in our scenes together. I absolutely adored her and we got on wonderfully.”

I’m morning and he was night. Complete opposites. He’d always come to bed between two and five in the morning, and get up between one and two in the afternoon. I always feel the day is wasted if I’m not up, dressed and ready to go by 8am. But if Joe was at home he would just be sitting at the kitchen table with his typewriter and his mug of tea. Or if he had people with him, they would all be round the kitchen table.

john’s screaming in twist and shout

do i need to say more?

John may have said many bad things about me, but he always had the courage to slip his glasses to the tip of his nose, and say ”I love you
